Our Mission: “To encourage and promote a vigorous Hunter Valley grape and wine industry that is environmentally and economically sustainable, and held in the highest regard by industry peers and consumers”.
The Hunter Valley is renowned as a significant wine and grape growing region. It employs over 7,000 people with over $500 million spent annually within the local area and industry.
The Hunter Valley is also one of Australia’s most popular places for tourism. Over 2.8 million tourists visit the wine growing area per annum. These tourists are estimated to generate over $560 million worth of business in the region. The tourist market is catered for by 75 cellar doors, 55 restaurants, 3 major golf courses, 3,000 beds and masses of infrastructure that allows for a complete tourism experience for the visitor.
The Hunter Valley brand is recognised in the world of wine as one of the top three regional wine brands in Australia. It has a powerful resonance with both trade and consumer. As an area producing only premium product, it operates in the upper tiers of the wine market when considered by price. It is an area of limited production with a focus on the aspirational to connoisseur wine drinker.
